Federation of Lithuanian Womens' Clubs, Philadelphia Chapter

    Records, 1951-1982.  2 ft.  This chapter was founded in 1950 as part of the Council of Lithuanian Womens' Clubs, which was formed in the German displaced persons' camps ca. 1947.  The organization remains active.  The records include correspondence, financial records, bylaws, a history, and ephemera.  In Lithuanian and English. Juras, Francis (1891- )

    Collection, 1891-1978.  1 ft., 1 folder, 4 OS items.  Msgr. Juras was born in Siauliai, Lithuania and came to the United States in 1912, eventually settling in Lawrence, Massachusetts.  The collection contains scrapbooks and printed materials relating to Lithuanian Americans and to Juras' activities as founder of the American Lithuanian Kultural Archives.  In Lithuanian and English.  Inventory available.  Gift of Msgr. Lithuanian Directory of Waterbury, Connecticut

    Manuscript, 1937.  1 volume.  This mimeographed directory of Lithuanians in Waterbury, Connecticut was compiled by Frank J. Hill in 1937.  The directory is arranged alphabetically by surname and grouped in households.  The directory contains information on relatives and occupations of individuals as well as street addresses.  In English.  Register available.

Lithuanian Folksong Quartet

    Records, ca. 1990.  3 folders, 1 audiocassette.  The quartet was formed in Philadelphia in the 1980s by Bronius Krokys and Joseph Kapinskas.  The group performs Lithuanian folk music.  The collection contains flyers, uncataloged photographs, and a 1990 recording by the group.  In English and Lithuanian.  Inventory available.  Gift of Bronius Krokys.

Lithuanian Music Hall

    Records, 1897-1991.  7 ft.  The Lithuanian Music Hall Association was founded in Philadelphia in 1907 to provide a central meeting place for the educational and recreational activities of a number of local Lithuanian organizations.  Events include concerts, literary evenings, and commemorative events.  The collection includes correspondence, membership and financial records, and printed materials.  In Lithuanian and English.  Inventory available.  Gift of the organization.

Navickas, Thaddeus (1926- )

    Papers, 1953-1989.  4 folders.  Thaddeus Navickas was born in Alytus, Lithuania and came to the United States in 1949.  He was educated in Ohio and lives in Idaho.  The collection consists of bound and sheet music for choir and piano, some by Navickas and some by his father Stasys Navickas.  In English and Lithuanian.  Inventory available.  Gift of Thaddeus Navickas.

Northside Lithuanian Republican Alliance of Philadelphia

    Records, 1912-1919.  1 volume.  The Northside Lithuanian Republican Alliance of Philadelphia was founded in 1908 as a fraternal organization.  The collection contains a single volume of minutes for the years 1912-1918.  Also present are photocopies of pages of the program for the organization's fortieth anniversary banquet and dance.  In Lithuanian and English.  Register available.  Gift of Alphonse Sugint.

Voice of the Lithuanian Community, Radio Program

    Records, ca. 1908-1992.  9 ft.  The Voice of the Lithuanian Community was formed in 1949, and reorganized in 1951 as a volunteer organization broadcasting news (both of the community and from Lithuania) and music on WTEL in Philadelphia.  The organization is still active.  The collection includes sound recordings, logs, and an uncataloged photograph.  In Lithuanian and English.  Inventory available.  Gift of the organization.
