The Ferreira family were among a group of Presbyterian Portuguese from the Madeira Islands who came to the United States as refugees from Catholic authority between 1848-1852, settling in Illinois. The collection contains photocopies of family trees and of government documents and other materials related to the history of the family. Also present are uncataloged photographs.
