NEW JERSEY.  ("Jersey Blue").

Area: 7,500 square miles.  Population: 1,250,000.

This State is mountainous in the north; in the southern and eastern part it is a sandy plain and in the center it is a rolling country.  Three mountain ranges traverse the State; the highest elevation is found in the Blue Mountains; the Palisades are from 300-600 feet high on the western bank of the Hudson River.
